SpringHill Day Camp 2017!!

SpringHill is bringing the experience of camp right here to Shepherd’s Gate the week of July 31-August 4, 2017!  Campers who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade for 2016/2017 can experience SpringHill.  Camp runs from 9a-4p each day. The cost is $189 per camper with sibling discounts and scholarships available.  Open registration begins on February 14, 2017 on SpringHill’s website.

To ensure the week is a success we need lots of help! The following opportunities are available to be involved with SpringHill, even if you do not have kids attending the camp:

Host Homes: We need 5-7 families to open their homes to allow approximately 30 SpringHill staff and counselors.  These college-aged young adults will need a place to sleep (spare bed, floor space for an air mattress, pull-out couch).  SpringHill can supply air mattresses if you have the floor space.  If you are able to provide linens, that’s great! If not, SpringHill can provide those, too, for their staff.  It is also asked that you provide breakfast (whatever you normally eat in the morning is fine) each morning for your guests, as well as dinner on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

Party Hosts:  Every week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings after camp the staff get together for dinner and fellowship.  We need two families, one on Tuesday (August 1) and one on Thursday (August 3) to open their homes to allow these young adults to spend time together.  You will be reimbursed for food purchases for the evening’s meal and snacks (we try to stay within a budgeted amount).  Just set up all of your summer yard games and enjoy the energy of these great staff members who are sharing Jesus with our kids.

Lunch Prep and Serving:  We need help every day from 2-3 people to prep, serve, and clean-up lunch for the 30 SH staff & the Counselors-in-Training that work to make sure camp is fun for each and every child.

Monday Morning Registration: We need about 12 people to help make sure Monday morning registration runs quick and smooth for all campers.  It is a commitment of about 1 hour on Monday morning (July 31) to make sure SpringHill has all needed information for each camper and we let each camper know which group they are in.

Drivers:  If your child is attending SpringHill and you are able to take a little extra time each day to pick up and take home a child who needs a ride to and from camp, let us know!  Even if you don’t have a child attending, but can still help drive a student to camp, that would be great! All drivers are background and driving record checked.
