FAMILY OF GOD
Takes the Gospel to the streets of inner city Detroit. Family of God Church is reaching the homeless, the mentally challenged, the addicted, the ailing and the aged.
MICAH6 COMMUNITY
Tackles issues including growing community gardens, hanging out with neighborhood kids, and living with an open door to the homeless for showers and a place to cook food.
SAMARITAN HOUSE
Meets emergency needs for low income families in Washington, Bruce, Armada, Ray, Shelby/Macomb (north of 23 Mile Road). Emergency food and other household commodities are provided via a large on-site pantry furnished by community donations and staffed entirely by volunteers.
SUPPORT FOSTER CARE
MACOMB FOSTER CLOSET
Provides much-needed clothing and other essential items for free to all children in foster care and the amazing families that care for them.
FRIENDS OF FOSTER KIDS
Provides a “Christmas” for foster children in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect and placed in temporary housing or shelters.
HELP NEW MOTHERS
ABIGAYLE MINISTRIES
Assists pregnant woman and their children by introducing them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping them to be self-sufficient through its residential program and community resource center.
COMPASSION PREGNANCY CENTER
Exists to provide hope, help, and education to those experiencing unexpected pregnancy. CPC’s goal is that clients would choose life for their unborn baby and choose eternal life in Jesus Christ.
JJ’S HOUSE
Provides a family environment and stability for foster children in need, as well as, a transition home for pregnant girls. JJ’s House transforms lives with love, care, education and support —giving hope and a voice to those who have none.
ASSIST THE HOMELESS
HEARTS FOR HOMES
Ends child homelessness by assisting homeless families obtain a permanent home.
OPERATION LOVE OUR HOMELESS
Battles homelessness in Detroit and surrounding areas.
WAVE PROJECT
Helps the homeless in Macomb County by providing mobile showers to those in need. Wave Project was started by a collection of friends that was brought together through their common threads of faith to address homelessness.
ABOLISH HUMAN TRAFFICKING
ELLI’S HOUSE
Works to end sex trafficking in the city of Detroit through building relationships, offering safe shelter, and providing education. They are committed to helping the young girls and women of Detroit, who have run away from home or found themselves involved in human trafficking.
MICHIGAN ABOLITIONIST PROJECT
Works to prevent human trafficking and transform the culture that causes slavery to exist and thrive. They are everyday people who are making a difference in communities across Michigan.
SUPPORT THE YOUTH
GOOD NEWS GANG
Provides hope and builds futures for children living in adverse conditions. Whether faced with the physical effects of poverty or the dangers of gangs, violence, abuse and hopelessness, they want to see children’s lives placed on a new path through the life-changing love of Christ.
NEW CITY KIDS
Offers after-school programs for local low-income youth, allowing them to explore music and academics in a supportive environment.
HELP END POVERTY
MACOMB CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
Helps children living at or below poverty level in Macomb County. Their goal is to alleviate the suffering of children and their families by providing assistance (food, clothing, rent, utility, vehicle repair, etc.) and when needed, personal and spiritual mentoring.
REBUILD OUR COMMUNITY
CAMP RESTORE
Works to restore faith, home and community in the name of Jesus. They do that by partnering with more than 150 fellow nonprofits and churches to address large-scale systemic challenges, such as supporting local schools and youth programs and helping new, innovative community nonprofits get off the ground.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. They work to improve our neighborhoods in Macomb County and enable more families to have a stable, safe and affordable place to live.
INTERFAITH VOLUNTEER CAREGIVERS
The Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) program provides a wide variety of support to older and disabled adults who are struggling to remain safe and independent in their own homes. IVC works throughout Macomb, Oakland & St. Clair Counties to recruit, support and train volunteers who share their time and skills with neighbors in need.
