This ministry assists pregnant woman and their children by introducing them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and equipping them to be self-sufficient through its residential program and community resource center.

Opportunities include: educational tutor, household monitor, provide transportation, office assistant, fundraising, and housekeeping/building maintenance.

Compassion Pregnancy Center

A Christ centered outreach ministry which educates, encourages and comforts abortion minded and abortion vulnerable women and their families.

Opportunities include: Board & Committee member, church liaison, layette and material goods ministry, merit program, office assistant, peer counselor, receptionist.

Family of God

Taking the Gospel to the streets of inner city Detroit, Family of God Church is boldly proclaiming the Gospel. Family of God Church is reaching the homeless, the mentally challenged, the addicted, the ailing and the aged. This model ministry is illustrating the life changing power of the Gospel as a church is planted in ground deemed infertile.

Opportunities include: cooking and serving meals, collecting can foods and disposable diapers, and clerical assistance.

Macomb Charitable Foundation

This ministry exists to help children living at or below poverty level in Macomb County. Their goal is to alleviate suffering of children and their families by providing assistance (food, clothing, rent, utility, vehicle repair, etc.) and when needed, personal and spiritual mentoring.

Opportunities include: spiritual mentoring, fundraising, event planning, moving furniture.

Moms In Prayer International

Moms In Prayer impacts children and schools worldwide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray. Our vision is that every school in the world would be covered with prayer.

Opportunities include: become part of an area team to carry out the mission and vision locally, assist with local events, join a group here at Shepherd’s Gate, or start your own group to pray for your children and schools.

Samaritan House

Samaritan House is a non-profit organization meeting emergency needs in Washington, Bruce, Armada, Ray, Shelby/Macomb (north of 23 Mile Road). Emergency food and other household commodities are provided via a large on-site pantry, furnished by community donations and staffed entirely by volunteers. Clothing, utilities emergencies, and medical outpatient needs are also addressed.

Opportunities include: food drive, filling an “adopt-a-bag” grocery bag, pantry staff, front desk, client interview and fund raising.

Thrivent Builds

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity will engage people to build hundreds of homes per year with families in need, provide mission trips for Christian outreach in local and foreign communities, and directly reduce poverty housing and homelessness around the world.

Trinity Community Care

Trinity Community Care provides free medical and dental care to those who cannot afford it, delivered with unconditional Christian love. They strive to do this in an integrated manner to create positive health outcomes.

Michigan Abolitionist Project

Voices for Justice is a community group of the Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP) that meets at Shepherd’s Gate. They help people use their gifts and talents to prevent and end modern day slavery in Michigan communities and beyond. MAP is a grassroots organization that focuses on eliminating the root causes of slavery. MAP plugs a growing number of people into community initiatives, and works along side other like-minded anti-slavery organizations.

Opportunities include: education, event planning, and various outreach initiatives.
