At some point in every person’s life challenges arise that overwhelm and challenge our ability to cope. The Care program at Shepherd’s Gate provides a safe and welcoming environment where people can find support and grow through the challenges and crises in life. Having someone to care, to listen, and to share God’s love during these times may not change the circumstance, but provides strength and support to get through it. There’s no reason to walk down a painful road alone. Someone from the Care program is waiting to walk alongside you. Contact

It helps to know you are not alone. On Thursday nights at Shepherd’s Gate, the church is filled with groups of people learning skills and finding support in each other through the challenges brought on by divorce, grief, relationship challenges, and past hurts.

Our current Care program adult offerings include DivorceCare, GriefShare, Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend, and Healing is a Choice by Stephen Arterburn, Parenting without Partners. DivorceCare for Kids and DivorceCare for Teens support groups for kids are offered at same time as adult classes.  Not all classes may be offered each semester.  Contact to confirm the class you are interested in will be offered and to register.

Our night begins with a casual dinner (home cooked comfort foods and pizza) each Thursday night at 6:30p with groups beginning at 7p. The information and support offered here will help you through the difficult life-experience you are facing, and will better equip you to live the abundant life God desires for you.  Registration is required prior to attending as groups occasionally close due to size. Sometimes when you are struggling with a hardship in life, you just need to talk. Through one-to-one confidential caring relationships, our coaches offer the space to heal, grow and find support.

  • Are the many balls of life you are juggling beginning to fall to the ground?
  • Are your health, your attitude, or your relationships suffering?
  • Are you adjusting to a new job, change in marital status, a serious illness, the death of a loved one, a recent move?
  • Would you feel stronger if you had someone to share the burden of the challenge you are facing?

You don’t have to walk alone through your tough times – Consider allowing a Care Coach to walk with you as you meet weekly at the location of your choice where you can vent, gain perspective and be reminded of the great love God has for you in the midst of your hardship. Contact or call the church knowing that your request for and relationship with a Care Coach will remain completely confidential.

Some people have God-given gifts and life experiences that make them uniquely equipped to support others through challenging life experiences. If you always seems to be the one that others turn to in moments of crisis, you are one of those people and we invite you to consider serving in the Care program. There is always a great need for Care volunteers because the demands for both group and individual care are always growing.

Our Care University course is offered once a year on Thursday nights in August – September and is required for Care Coaches serving in our groups. This dynamic course offers intensive training in listening, biblical care, and more and will equip you with practical skills and a solid approach for offering care to those in need. Contact to learn more about this life-changing course.

If you desire Prayer support there are volunteers available in the Worship Center to confidentially pray with you after Sunday morning services. If you would like to submit a prayer request to our weekly intercessor group, contact
