Frequently Asked Questions

What time are the worship services?

Sunday mornings at 8:30, 10 & 11:30a.

What are the people like?

On a typical Sunday, you’ll see all kinds of people – new parents, children, singles, seniors… Shepherd’s Gate is truly a multi-generational community of faith with people from all walks of life.

Do I need to dress up?

Shepherd’s Gate has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire.

How many people attend Shepherd's Gate?

God is blessing Shepherd’s Gate and one of His blessings is people! 200-300 hundred people attend each of our weekly worship services.

In addition, each week, hundreds of people of all ages at Shepherd’s Gate meet in small groups to learn about God, pray, eat, laugh, live and serve. These groups are the heart of our church.

What are the worship services like?

Our worship services use modern music and provide a message that connects with people’s lives. Services usually last around 60 minutes and include singing, teaching, and time for individual reflection and prayer.  Communion is offered the first and third Sunday’s of the month for those who are baptized and instructed on what we believe about Holy Communion (speak with one of our pastors if you are unsure about communion). Non-alcohol white grape juice is available.

Prayer intercessors (those trained in Biblical prayer) are available after the service for anyone who would like someone to pray with them.

What is there for my young children?

Books, activity sheets and crayons are available in the back of the worship center. We also have a well-equipped nursery staffed with loving caregivers available for children birth through three years old during most worship services and classes. Our Nursery is available at 10 & 11:30a Sunday mornings and at 7p Wednesday evening. Childcare is also offered for Tuesday & Thursday morning Bible studies, Thursday evening LifeCare classes, and for many other church activities.   We separate the infants and toddlers from the two and three year olds in order to best meet each child’s needs.

Shepherd’s Gate has several Nursery Managers on staff who are trained in all policies, CPR/First Aid, and have many years experience caring for children. Background checks are required for volunteers and staff working in the Nursery.

What is there for my school-age children?

Our worship services are family friendly. School age children are invited to join you in worship. Children’s messages are regularly provided and children are active participants in helping serve during the offering and communion.

During the 10a hour, our school age children meet for SG Kids.  They begin with age-appropriate, student-led worship time followed by Bible teaching in small groups.

What is there for my Jr. and Sr. High school students?

Our youth are active and engaged in Sunday worship.  In addition, both Jr. and Sr. high students meet Wednesday’s at 7p for worship and study.  The Jr and Sr High begin their Wednesday gatherings in student-led worship time. This includes messages that are relevant to their life.

When should I arrive?

If you are visiting with children, we recommend you arrive 15 minutes early so that we can help you check-in your children to the nursery or to the children’s meeting rooms (10a) if needed.  We have reserved parking spots for guests located in the north parking lot (off the Main Entrance). Our Greeting Team will be glad to direct you as needed.
