Speaker: Ben Marsh
Has someone ever said the phrase “everything happens for a reason” to you? It is often used to comfort those in grief or suffering, suggesting that there is a purpose for what they are going through. While it’s meant to help, it can make you feel worse…as if God is the cause of your problems. That phrase isn’t in the Bible, and it’s misleading about the nature of God’s role in our lives. What the Bible does say about how God relates to our grief and suffering is much more nuanced and helpful!
