Good morning. Great to see all of you here. I’m excited about that outdoor service, by the way.
It’s one of my favorite ones because it’s got the pulled pork sandwiches. Anyone else with me? Come on. It’d be great.
Yes, and did you see the swag that you can get if you bring a friend? So get on that right now. Think about who you’re gonna bring because you’re only gonna get that if you bring your friend with you. And we’re gonna be militant about that.
So bring a friend. Bring a friend. No, it’s gonna be fun.
We’re excited about it. But today, I am also excited because it’s our fourth annual, you know, Volunteer Hero Super Serving event. It’s a long title, but what it means is we’re celebrating all of our volunteers and all of the volunteer opportunities that we have at Shepard’s Gate.
And after the service today, we have a serving fair, which is gonna be out those doors and to the left, out on the lawn, because it’s such a beautiful day today with sun, but it’s not too hot. And so I just want to encourage you to be prepared to go out there and check it out. If you’re a current volunteer, go out there and support your team and support your serving family.
It’s gonna be a really great time. Before we get there, though, let’s talk a little bit about how churches are structured, because why do we need all these volunteers? Well, think about it. A church our size needs two to three pastors.
We had two. Now we’re about to have three, which is great because we’re growing. So three pastors.
We have about 30 people on staff. So there are about seven of us full time, and the rest are some part of part time. So two to three pastors, about 30 overall staff, but we have over 300 volunteers.
Wow. Think about that. So many more volunteers.
Why? Well, it’s not because the pastors are lazy, and it’s not a savvy business decision to save on the budget. And it’s not a guess on how church should work. Actually, it’s found in the Bible, and here’s one place it’s found in Galatians.
It says this. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially those that belong to the family of believers. That’s us.
A family of believers is a church. Let us do good. That’s serving.
This is actually a command given by God that this is how the church should operate. Yes, we have pastors. Yes, we have staff, but it’s a community together, volunteering and serving one another that make ministry possible.
So to kind of give examples of this throughout this talk, I’m going to bring up a few of our current volunteer heroes. So I’d like to welcome one of our newest volunteers. Could you give a round of applause for Emma DiLoretto? We should move the mic to the side that we’re all here.
You can be serving right now by moving that for me. Yeah, thank you. Well, Emma, thanks for being here today.
So how long have you been serving? I’ve been serving since May of this year, but I’ve been attending Shepherds Gate since January with my boyfriend. That’s right. And I remember meeting with you a few months ago because you wanted to figure things out.
And you said you tried a few churches before Shepherds Gate. We tried 11 churches at the beginning of this year. And it was very fun.
But Shepherds Gate was our home. That’s great. Well, I’m glad that you found a home here at Shepherds Gate.
When we met, I remember that you had checked a few items on the volunteer interest form, maybe six or seven of them, right? I just was eager. And I think that putting God first is always important. And that’s how I ended up on the photography team.
We didn’t say that yet, but I’m on the photography team. So that’s where I ended up. That’s actually my full time job.
But God gives me talent, gives all of us talents. And I think that we should serve him first before income. That’s amazing.
Well, I’m glad that you found your team. How’s it been going? Do you enjoy it? Yes, I enjoy it. I love watching the baptisms and the outdoor services this summer have been awesome.
It’s just a blessing. That’s great. Well, what would you say to people who are maybe in the service today? Maybe they’re new, like you were new just a few months ago.
And they’re just figuring things out. And here we are talking about serving, giving some of our time. What would you say to them? Is it worth it? Should they do it? Absolutely.
Definitely scan the code or fill out the pamphlet that they have. Like I said, I clicked six or seven of them and we just chatted about it. And obviously photography is like my gig.
So that’s where I fell. But I feel like even just saying hi, being a greeter, being on refreshments, being tear down or, you know, anything. Wherever the place is, you know, to find a serve.
That’s where you should be. There’s somewhere, something here for everybody. That is awesome.
Well, we have a little unique opportunity here because you’re on the photography team and you have your camera and we never get the crowd shot from the platform. So can we do it? Okay, let’s do it. You guys are gonna have to smile.
That’s your part. She’s gonna get a wide shot here. So I’ll get out of the way.
All right, everyone wave and smile. On that side, that side. Excellent.
Thank you very much, Emma. Well, now you’re all going to be in that shot. So you didn’t know you were going to be in a picture today, but you just you just were.
So hopefully that’s okay. All right. So we have a couple of kinds of serving at Shepherd’s Gate.
Let’s just talk a little bit about where we are right now with our serving. We have what we call step out. And step out is serving our neighbors in our community.
It’s very important. And we punch above our weight when it comes to step out and serve. And in fact, we have a weekend where we don’t even do church on Sunday.
We go to over 40 sites in the community and serve, but we do it throughout the year as well. We have step out and serving. We’re not talking about that serving today, although it is very important.
Today, we’re talking about step in serving. Serving the community of Christ. Serving the church within the church community.
And so that’s the kind of serving that we’re focusing on today. So let me just ask you, let’s do a little numbers game. So how many people do you think we need to serve, let’s say, once a month? Just shout it out.
What do you think? 30, 70, 200, 400, 700, 100, 300. All right. So it’s varying widely.
Here’s some data to help you narrow down your focus. Last April in 2024, we had 225 people serve in that month, step in and serve. Now, if you look to 2025, we had 287 people serve.
So you can see we’re going in the right direction. You can give yourself a hand for that. We’ve been growing in our serving.
However, how many people do we actually need? Well, when we run the numbers to fill the roles that we have right now on our teams, 365. I don’t know why it’s the same days, you know, the number of days in a year. It just worked out that way.
365 people is what we need to fill our serving team. So you can see we’re doing well, we’re going in the right direction, but we have a ways to go. There are needs that need to be filled.
Now, you might be asking yourself, wait a second. I come to Shepherd’s Gate, and I can put my child in the nursery, and there’s someone there to shake my hand and greet. And then when I come into the gym, there’s a worship team, and there’s a tech team, and it looks like you’re doing everything that you need to do.
Why? It looks like we have enough people serving. Well, what’s happening is that our dedicated volunteers that we have right now, some of them are doubling up and tripling up because they care so much about our community that they want to make sure that all spots are filled. Even so, sometimes we can’t fill all the spots.
I don’t know if you noticed today, but we left the keyboard station up. We didn’t have a keyboardist. We didn’t have a bass player.
We tried to find them. We couldn’t find anyone to serve this particular day. So just so you know, there are open spots, not just on the worship team, but on all our teams.
There’s lots of places to serve. In fact, I want to just emphasize that a little bit and introduce you to another couple of our volunteer heroes who found some spots to serve. So would you please welcome Lisa and Eli Fasho to the stage? Keep telling myself, slow down, slow down.
They told me, you know, I get so excited about this message, I go faster and faster. So we’ll just take this interview nice and easy. So anyway, Eli, Lisa, thanks for being here today.
Maybe, Eli, you can start by just telling people where do you guys serve? Yeah, so we both serve in the kids. I work with the fifth and sixth graders. My wife works with the older kids and also the fifth and sixth grade part-time.
I’m also on the set design. I lead the setup for the fun squad. And yeah, just anywhere.
And any time that I text you, I, you know, with something to do. Yeah, like the Bob Vila volunteering. That’s right.
So what motivated you guys to start serving? It was really just God putting that on our hearts, wanting to help some way. And we asked, how can we help? And we just keep. So you saw the need and.
Yeah. And there you went. So that’s great.
So you both serve in students. And I know that you guys, because of your Facebook posts recently, you’ve been shipping off your own kids to college, you know, this fall and things like that. So is there a connection between that and like serving with students? Probably just already knowing that age group and how to relate to them somewhat and wanting to spread the word with them.
It’s such a vulnerable age where they could take the wrong message. So really wanting to help them grow in their faith so that they can do the same and become disciples of Christ. That’s awesome.
So you’re leveraging the experience that God gave you through parenting now to just help with some of our students as well in this community. That’s awesome. So how’s it going? Why is it important to you? I think you told me once that like, what else would I do? Right.
Something like that. Yeah. If I wasn’t volunteering, I’d be sitting on my couch, scrolling social media.
It’s really when you think about it, it’s a couple hours out of my week that I’m doing something good and not just sitting around and watching things I probably shouldn’t be. So why not give your time to God? That’s awesome. Well, what would you say to anyone that’s out here that has not stepped in to serve? They’re on the fence.
Maybe they just can’t see the need today. What would you say? First, I would say pray. Ask God what role could be used in your life.
And then, yeah, there’s roles for everybody from a seven-year-old to an 80-year-old. You can find anything and everything here, and we need it bad. Yeah.
Well, thank you so much for stepping in to serve, and let’s give them another round of applause as they exit the stage. Well, let’s turn our attention back to the Bible for a moment and look a little more deeply about what God says about serving. And we’re going to go to 1 Corinthians, and let me read this for you.
Now, there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of service, but the same Lord. And there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. So what does this mean? Well, it means, fortunately for us, one size does not fit all. There are a variety of gifts.
God has made each of us different. And fortunately in the church, there are a variety of roles so that we need to match what we have, the unique thing that God gave to us, with a role in the church. And it’s for the common good, which means when we serve from that place in us, like Emma does with her photography, or Eli and Lisa does with the students, it is for the whole church.
The whole church benefits. Later on in the same passage, we read this. God arranged the members of the body, and here’s talking about a human body, each one of them as he chose.
If we’re all a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. I think it’s interesting that God chose the metaphor of the human body to talk about the church community, don’t you? He made you a part of this body called Shepherd’s Gate.
He chose you to be here, just like my body has the chosen parts that it needs, fingers and hands and the rest of the parts. And so that means that whether you’re watching online or you’re here in person, if you call this church home, he chose you. Just like he chose the parts of our bodies, he chose you to be at Shepherd’s Gate.
We need you and we need your unique skills to make our community complete. And actually, there’s a verse in Romans that takes us one step further. It says this, just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body.
We are many parts of one body and we all belong together. If this is your home church, I belong to you and you belong to me. That’s what that means.
We belong to each other. And, you know, I take care of the parts of my body. I can’t ignore any of them because they’re all a part of me.
If I have a hangnail on my smallest finger, I’m taking care of that. You know, I cut my toenails. My wife complains about it.
You got to cut your toenails. I’m like, OK, and I’ll cut my toenails. Well, I take care of it because it’s my body and I care for it.
That’s the metaphor that Christ is using for our church. We belong to each other like the parts of a body belong to each other. Do you know what that means? That means that I can’t turn a blind eye toward our little babies that need to have a nursery so that we can take care of them.
I can’t turn a blind eye toward our SG kids who are learning about Jesus for the first time. I can’t turn a blind eye toward our students as they are coming into adulthood and need the guidance and the steadiness of a community in which to enrich their faith. I can’t ignore our young adults who are finding their way in the world.
Young couples that are just married to work on their marriages. Young families with couples who are wondering, how do I do this parenting thing? Empty nesters who are just going on a new direction and a new journey and a new role. Or our seniors who are enjoying their golden years and also the challenges that come with that.
See, it’s not about the church community to just come, consume content, and then jet. That’s not this metaphor. I belong to you.
You belong to me. We dare not turn a blind eye to any of us. We are a community.
Together, we belong with each other. How do we do that? We step in and serve. We serve each other.
That’s how ministry works. That’s how a church is designed to work. That’s why there are way more volunteers than there are staff.
Because we belong to each other. Take a look at this verse with a new emphasis. Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body.
We are many parts of one body and we belong to each other. Why does he say Christ’s body there? Well, what is the ultimate reason for serving? Our first example for serving is Jesus Christ, who founded the church. He came to earth.
He lived a sinless life. He died on the cross for our sins and he rose from the dead and defeated death and sin for us. He did that as a servant.
And he told his followers, go and do likewise. Be a servant to all. And so we’re actually an extension of Christ.
That’s why it says we’re Christ’s body. And so this is the crazy thing. Anybody can be kind.
Anybody can do something for somebody else and they should. But when we’re here, when we’re part of the body of Christ, when you open a door or you hand someone a cup of hot chocolate, or you’re holding a baby and caring for that baby, or you’re leading a game in SG students, whatever you’re doing here, those ordinary things take on extraordinary significance. Because we’re not just doing it to be kind or to get good karma.
We’re doing it because we’re Christ’s body. We’re an extension of the work of Jesus in the world. And so those ordinary things become extraordinary.
And that’s why I’m so passionate and excited about helping everybody here find a place of serving. Because you belong to me and I belong to you. And as Christ’s body, we go forth and we do good in this world.
And I’ll tell you, we’ve got an amazing fall planned. Our Bible studies will start to ramp up again. Our life groups, midweek refresh is coming back for young families in October.
Our amazing care ministry is going to be starting in September. And a lot of this stuff just ramps up because the fall comes and we get back to school and to work. And that’s when it happens.
And we’re still growing and we’re still seeing new people come. And even though we love this body of Christ together, we want to share it with as many people as possible. And so for all of those new people, we need to point them to Jesus.
We need to be able to serve them and welcome them and care for them as they become part of this rendition of Christ’s body. And so now is the perfect time to think about serving. Where are you going to step in and serve? Now, to bring this point home, I want to bring up one more group of our volunteer heroes.
So as they’re coming up to the platform, please welcome the McQuaid family. More than just one or two. Yeah, got the whole crew here.
That’s right. No problem. So, so first, let’s do names.
So tell us who you are. Give us some introductions. I’m Sarah, the mom.
And then we got Emma, who is going into sixth grade. We have Madison going into fifth grade and Eli’s going into second grade. And I’m Eric.
How are you doing? Thank you, Eric. I am going into my 42nd year of life. OK, good.
We’re all on some kind of journey, aren’t we? So tell me what you guys do to step in and serve. We are the leaders of the refreshment team. So we get to, Eric and I, we love coffee and the kids love the snacks.
So we do the coffee ministry here. Yeah, and I can see you actually all have lanyards. So it’s not just the two of you.
Your whole family is serving. So tell me about that. The lanyard is very powerful, especially for our kids.
Now, they, you know, every Sunday when we wake up, they’re like, oh, are we serving? Are we making coffee today? And they just fell into their little roles that they love to do. And, you know, and for us, it’s all about serving others. Right.
Like as our younger generations grow up, they get more, you know, selfish and into themselves. And for us, it’s all about other people. What can we do to help others? And it’s just a simple way that we can do that.
And the kids love to do it as well. I don’t know. Emma, would you be willing to share a little bit about why you like serving? So I love doing snacks because it’s so fun to, like, pass out snacks to my friends and to greet everybody.
And I love that I’m knowing that I’m helping the church become a stronger community. That’s great. Thank you.
Thank you for serving. So but the inevitable question is, here you are, a family of five. I mean, families are busy.
You’ve got, you know, sports, school, other things you’re doing. How do you make it work? We have an online calendar. It helps out a lot.
No, I mean, it’s something that we prioritize of serving at least once a month or twice a month. I mean, it’s something for anybody. You can serve once every other month.
There’s something for everyone, for sure. We make it so that, you know, you’re not signing your life away. You can still do your normal things that you’re doing.
It’s very flexible, you know, in any spot that you want to serve in church. The flexibility is amazing for that part. There’s two services on Sunday, so you can do a 9 or 11.
And then throughout the week, there’s a whole bunch of volunteers also needed during the week. Weeks are hard for us because of, you know, practices and everything, but we make it a priority to at least be here. Right, you found a way to make it work.
Well, thank you. So to any families that might be out there, maybe they’re in a similar situation, give it your best shot. Why, you know, why should they do this? The refreshment team needs some help.
I knew you were going to get your plug in. No, I… Initially, you know, it’s the idea of adding one more thing to your schedule, right? And hesitant and trying to figure out what works. And truthfully, like, we have such greater joy knowing that we’re serving, and especially in the church, right? Like, and hope that it then goes out into the other aspects of all of our lives.
So, yeah, like Eric said, we made a priority. And it just, it’s those little seeds that we’re planting. And not just for our own kids, but anyone, you know, just to be able to greet and say hi and to talk to everybody in church.
Yeah, I mean, we talked to a family outside earlier, and they were thinking about getting there. They were nervous about their three-year-old helping. And it’s easy, like, even putting snacks on a tray or water on a tray.
It’s something that is showing them that they can do it. And it’s for any age, like, you know, from seven years old or three years old to 80 or 90 or whatever it is. You know, there’s something for everybody.
Awesome. Well, thanks so much for sharing today. Thanks to everyone for coming up.
Let’s give them another thank you. I even roped them into taking my chairs away since the interviews are done. Isn’t that nice? They’re such great servants, volunteers.
All right. Well, in my time serving churches, I have heard lots of excuses why serving wouldn’t work for one reason or another. And I’m not trying to be snarky.
I understand that there are times when, you know, you’re in crisis or something and can’t serve. But I do think that there are some excuses that hold people back from serving. And so when we went through this message about four years ago, I did what I call the lightning round.
And I want to bring it back. So what we’re going to do is, I’ll get to the lightning round slide. I’ve thought of some of the most common excuses that I’ve heard over the years.
And we’re going to do this family feud style. So when one pops up on the screen, if you would just read it, and then I will do my best to knock that excuse down. And maybe it’ll encourage somebody that has one of these concerns that actually you could serve.
So are you ready? You’re going to help me out? All right. We’ll see how it goes. Here’s the first one.
No, no, I’m not. You know what? Guilt serving doesn’t work. You can usually get someone out of a sense of duty to serve for a little bit.
But if it’s not their sweet spot, if it’s not the place that they’ve chosen, that God has for them, then it won’t last. And so it’s really, it’s not even worth it to try to guilt anyone into serving. And I want you to know at the serving fair today, you’re not signing up to serve on a team.
You’re signing up if you fill out that interest form to learn more. And that’s really true. We’ll give you information about the serving opportunity.
We’ll share a next step with you, which is usually shadowing someone on the team to see if you like it or not. And that’s how we roll here at Shepherd’s Gate. No guilt.
All right. Here’s the next one. What? You’re too busy? Well, you heard the McQuaids.
They’re a busy family. It’s not really about busyness. We all have the same 24 hours in a day.
It’s about priority. And I hope to have convinced you or to help you along your journey to say that belonging to a body of Christ like this, that serving component is and should be a priority, not just for you, but for your whole family. And remember what they said.
We do have lots of different serving opportunities. You’re not finding your life away. We have some that are serving only occasionally, some that do once a month, and some that do three or four times if you’re into it and you have the schedule to do it.
But you’re in control. You’re in the driver’s seat. All right.
Here’s the next one. You don’t? That’s too bad. Well, you know, a lot of times people look at our list and say, well, I can’t play guitar.
I don’t have a great voice to sing. Usually the ones with the light shining on them, these are the ones that people think about. But there are a lot of different roles.
We actually have 44 different serving step in roles here at Shepherd’s Gate. Many of them don’t require that many special skills, but it’s not about the skills as much as it is about the gifts that God has given you. Remember that passage from 1 Corinthians.
We want to find what God has given you, whether it’s encouragement or leadership or being able to help people or having an eye to just help others. That’s what you want to start with first and then find a role that fits your gifts. And that’s a much better way to think about it.
And finally, we will train you. Most of our volunteer roles come with training. We can train you to do almost anything.
All right. Here’s the next one. Perfect.
I’m so glad you’re here. I hope that you’ve discovered that we’re a church on the move and that we just don’t sit around. We like to do things, serve others and serve in our community.
And you don’t have to be a member to do most of our serving roles at Shepherd’s Gate. You can get right in. In fact, it’s a good way to learn, to meet new people, to learn what we’re all about and to connect yourself to our community by joining a serving team.
And this always comes up. So I’ll just say this. If you want to serve in SG Kids or SG Students and you’re new, we do have a six month waiting period.
And only because for our kids and students, safety comes first. And we want you to just get to know us and us to get to know you for those particular serving roles. All right.
Here’s the next one. It’s fun to make you say these out loud. I can’t lie.
Well, listen, nobody’s perfect. I’m not perfect. Pastor Tim’s not perfect.
Nobody’s perfect. We all have things going on in our lives. If we all had to have our life all together to serve, we would not be able to do anything that we do because no one’s perfect.
And the Bible says we’re all sinners anyway. We’re just saved by grace. We’re all in the same boat.
And actually, when you’re on a serving team, you’re connected to people. And so if you’re going through a problem or something’s happening, it’s actually better to know a few people at church. They can pray for you.
They can support you as a team. And so unless you’re in crisis, I would say, nope, you’re not too messed up. Here’s another one.
No, you’re not. So as Eric said, you know, you can serve if you’re as young as three. And we do have opportunities for children to serve because we want them to be a part of our community, too.
And what we say around here for when you’re older is, if I’m not dead, I’m not done. That’s right. If I’m not dead, I’m not done.
There are rules that you can serve in, too. Nobody is excluded here at Shepherd’s Gate. All right.
Last one. Yeah, sometimes people will come and say, I really don’t want to serve because, like Emma, like I’ve got five or six or seven things I want to do. Or I can’t check any of them.
I really don’t know enough about any of them. I don’t really know what I want to do. Not a problem.
If you select on our interest form more than two or three of these roles, then I get them. And I love to meet with people like I did with Emma and just figure out where your sweet spot might be. And here’s the key.
Just try something. If you don’t like it, there are no strings attached. That’s how we do serving here at Shepherd’s Gate.
And I’m serious. The staff and the leaders know. If you try something and it’s not for you, you don’t have to feel guilty about that.
Just let somebody know and you can try something else. And it’s as simple as that. Really easy to find your sweet spot.
Well, today we are going to end just a little bit early. I do have a couple more slides for you, but I want to just describe the serving fare that’s going to happen again. Out those doors and out this exit.
It’s outside because it’s such a great day today. And we thought, you know what? Let’s just bring it outside. And I’m so glad we did.
We have special refreshments. So more than our usual refreshments are out there for you. We have a special coffee that we brought in for this event from Threads.
And they donate 100% of their profits to bring women out of human trafficking. So we’re really excited about sponsoring them today. You’ll find tables with all sorts of serving opportunities.
And people will be there in these shirts, these solid color shirts. And they are on the team or leading the team. And you can walk around to the different tables.
There’ll be a serving booklet you can pick up on the tables that will have all 44 of our roles available. More information. And that serving booklet will have a QR code.
All you do is scan that. And you fill out that very simple, I’m interested in this and this. And you hit submit.
And then we will take it from there. We got your back. If you don’t know what a QR code is and you’re worried about that, they have pen and paper too.
They can just write your name down and we’ll get you connected. I’m going to ask everybody with a solid color shirt that’s in here right now though. If you would just stand up.
Those that are going to be at the tables. Now’s your time to go out and get ready so that we’ll be ready for everybody else when the time comes here in just a minute. All right.
While they’re doing that and you can see them getting ready here. I want to share with you. I can’t share with you all 44.
It would take too long. But there are a few teams that we really have the greatest need right now going into the fall. And so here they are.
You met the McQuaids. So our refreshment team is doing great. But they could use another couple of families, couples or individuals to join that team.
So we have great coffee and refreshments every week. SG Kids. You know what’s funny about that? In the last 12 months, we brought more people in to serve on SG Kids than on any other team.
But we are getting more kids than we’ve ever gotten in SG Kids, which is a great problem to have. We’re still growing. So the need for volunteers in SG Kids is still strong.
If that touches your heart, then look into our SG Kids roles. And same thing with SG Students. Our new full-time student director, Julia, has worked really hard this summer to provide great experiences for our 5th through 12th grade students.
And we’re going to go into the fall strong with a fresh new program of ministry for them. But she can’t do that alone. We can’t do something like that alone.
It takes a team. And so just like Lisa and Eli are volunteering on students, I would ask you, if that touches your heart, to look into our SG Student team. Tech as well.
You know Tech. They’re the cool kids in the room. They’re in the back at the cameras and in that little room with all the computers.
You’ve probably seen them if you’ve been here a couple of weeks. And they do great making it sound and look good in this room and on live stream as we broadcast each week. And we could use more roles.
Those roles, by the way, we can train you to do those. You don’t have to have prior experience in Tech for that. And then finally, parking team.
We have a parking team. We’ve had a parking team for a long time, but it’s very low right now. And we just need a few people to stand in our parking lots and welcome our guests from the moment they enter our campus and do this.
And if you think you can do that and you want to welcome people to our church, then parking team could be for you. All right. And then finally, I want to give you three new teams that you probably have not heard of because they’re new this year.
So the first one is called our ambassador team. And this is a small team of people that are coming together to welcome families with children of special needs. And we’re putting a program together where we can accommodate the various needs that they may have to make sure that they’re welcome.
And they have a great experience here at Shepherds Gate when they come. And if that interests you, be sure to check out the ambassador team. We have a new health and wellness team, and that team is just forming up right now.
And we have lots of ideas, but we’re trying to build interest and then decide. We have some ideas like going out into the community and bringing health and wellness to our community and represent Christ in that way. And also to have health and wellness team members here in case of a medical emergency, we would know who to go to right away.
So that’s a new team we’re forming up. And then finally, in our worship production teams, you don’t have to have a beautiful voice or play an instrument to be in the worship space. We have a stagehand team, which is new, and service producers.
Both of those roles are non-musical and even non-technical. But just like we had the chairs moving here, things like that, making sure the service runs smoothly. If that interests you, then check out that team.
I would love to talk about all the rest of them. There’s too many, and I want to give us time to go out there. So this is the QR code that sends you directly to the form that we fill out for volunteer interest.
And if for some reason you cannot go to the serving fair today, I hope you can go. I really want you to go. But if you have a prior commitment or something, you can just take your phone out right now and snap that or just do it now if you want to investigate it.
It just takes you right to that form. All you got to do is submit it and someone will connect you with next steps. Anyway, you can tell I got fast there at the end.
I’m sorry. But I am excited about this. I hope you’re excited about it, too.
We have a wonderful fall in play, and we’re going to be a community together that just is active and sharing the love of Jesus with people that come and all over the world. Are you with me?
