When you walk through our doors, you are home. Our place is somewhere you can connect with friends who become like family. A place to get to know Jesus, the one who has changed our lives so much, we know He can change yours too.

Our History.
Our Shepherd’s Gate family was formed in 1980 with seven families, meeting in one another’s homes and celebrating life together. Four decades later, we continue to meet at our place in Shelby Township, MI, where we learn about Jesus and walk alongside each other during all seasons of life.

Shepherd’s Gate is a community of ordinary people who join together to share the extraordinary love of Jesus with the world. We value every[one], including you, and believe the Bible’s message is true. Once you hear this message, we know it will make a difference in your life because Jesus has made an overwhelming difference in ours. Our wish is for you to explore how much God loves you and to find His purpose in your life.
BIRTH TO 6TH GRADE.
Want your kids to explore faith in a way that makes sense to them? In our SG Kids program, they’ll discover God’s love through fun, engaging activities and honest conversations – all at their own pace and perfect for their age.
We use a classroom check-in and check-out system to ensure each family feels secure and can enjoy our worship service with peace of mind. All of our volunteers and staff members working with kids are required to complete background checks before working in our facility.

Meet Our Pastors
Lead Pastor | Tim Bollinger
Tim is an outdoor enthusiast and devoted family man who loves camping and spending time at Michigan’s beaches with his wife, Lisa, and their boys. Since 2004, he’s been helping people find their way at Shepherd’s Gate. Tim has served in various rolls such as the Student Director, Family Director, and Executive Pastor until he became Lead Pastor in 2017 where he continues bringing the same authentic spirit to church that he brings to life.
Associate Pastor | Ben Marsh
Meet Ben and his crew – a dad of three active boys who, along with his wife Stephanie, loves family adventures, staying fit, and soaking up Michigan’s outdoors. Since 2020, he’s been helping others find their path here at SG.
