Today, we’re tackling another question many of us wrestle with:

“Do all religions lead to God?” Maybe even, could all religions lead to God?

It’s a question that’s everywhere, or an idea that’s mentioned casually—in social media debates, at the dinner table,  and in conversations with friends. With Jewish temples, Hindu families, Buddhist centers, and a thriving Muslim community all around Metro Detroit, it would be easiest to think that all faiths point to the same God. Some people even suggest that every religion shares the same moral truths, just expressed differently. Indeed that simplified view would make the most sense if we’re seeking peace and coexistence, right?

Not exactly.  Here’s what the Bible says about the central truth for all people: Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation.

In John 14:6, Jesus declares:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

This doesn’t mean that God isn’t big enough to be and represent all versions of a higher power or “god” for any other religion. It means that His way, documented in His word, and fulfilled by His only son, is intricately and perfectly designed for us. For all of us! This isn’t about being exclusive for the sake of exclusion—it’s about the reality of God’s plan for humanity. Only Jesus offers reconciliation with God, forgiveness of sins, and eternal life.

The Inclusivity of Jesus’ Love

Here’s the incredible part: while Jesus is the only way, His invitation is open to everyone. God wants everyone, regardless of their background, stage of life, or past mistakes, to experience Him personally, .with no strings attached. In fact, Christianity is the only religion that professes salvation without its believers needing to take any other specific action, other than believing in God’s promise. Other religions teach that performing good deeds or adhering to religious laws secure peace, prosperity or salvation. But through God’s design for Christian faith, the basic principle of grace through faith is already fulfilled by Jesus.

Here it’s written in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” We read also in Romans that no amount of good works can “earn” salvation, Romans 3:20: “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight.”

Living Boldly in Truth

This is our calling. To love and respect people of all faiths while sharing the hope and truth of Jesus. Love and conviction can coexist, and that balance is how we live out the gospel every day, rooted in truth.

Here are the takeaways:

  • Jesus is the only path to God. Salvation is found in Him alone.

  • God’s love is for everyone. While Jesus is exclusive in His power, His invitation is inclusive.

  • At Shepherd’s Gate Church, we’re committed to being relatable, approachable, and available. We want faith to be real, practical, and transformative. Whether you’re exploring Christianity for the first time or returning after a season away, God’s Word has something for you.

Take a step today. Invite Jesus into your home, your marriage, and your family. Let Him show you what it truly means to live with purpose, hope, and eternal perspective.

Because in the end, it’s only Jesus who saves—and His love is for everyone.
