We just wrapped up a message series exploring some of life’s biggest questions—like what happens when Jesus comes back? Many of life’s toughest questions, like this one, are beyond practical reasoning, or questions that require us to lean on our faith to simply believe.
What we see in scripture as God’s explanation for Jesus’ return, might require us to suspend logic and surrender reasoning to God’s bigger picture for us. This can feel mysterious or even a little scary. But what if it’s actually the most encouraging news we could ever hear?
The Promise of Jesus’ Return
The Bible tells us that Jesus will return one day—not as a distant idea, but as a real event. Scripture says that when He comes back, He’ll bring believers—those who have put their faith in Him—into eternal life, free from pain, sorrow, and fear.
When that day comes, every believer who has passed away will rise again with new, perfect bodies. Those who are still alive will join them “in the clouds,” as Scripture says, and together we’ll be with Jesus forever.
It’s not something to fear. It’s something to celebrate. The Apostle Paul even encourages us to “encourage one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
That’s good news. And in a world filled with fear and uncertainty, it’s the hope our hearts need.
Heaven Is Closer Than You Think
A lot of people imagine heaven as a faraway place in the clouds. But the Bible paints a different picture—a new heaven and new earth, where God dwells with His people.
When Jesus returns, He won’t just take us away from this world. He’ll restore it. Everything broken will be made whole again. Every tear will be wiped away. Every moment of pain, loss, or fear will be gone forever.
That means the best parts of this life—love, laughter, joy, beauty—aren’t lost. They’re just waiting to be made new.
Living with Eternity in Mind
So what does that mean for how we live today?
Jesus said that when we love others—when we feed the hungry, care for the sick, and show compassion—we’re serving Him. Faith isn’t just about believing in heaven someday. It’s about bringing a glimpse of heaven to earth right now.
And the truth is, none of this is something we can earn. Eternal life is an inheritance—a free gift from God, offered to anyone who believes in Jesus.
That’s why we keep sharing this message, loving our community, and helping more people discover the hope that never ends. Because this life isn’t all there is. And what’s coming next? It’s better than we can imagine.
